Environmentally friendly practices
Quality, Safety and Environmental Consciousness
The BWCA’s strict Bylaws and Codes of Practice provide a guarantee of product safety, quality and environmental consciousness.
Sanitary Maintenance and Sanitisation Programmes
BWCA Distributor Members are mandated to carry-out regular scheduled sanitary maintenance and sanitisation to water coolers supplied or serviced, ensuring the safety and quality of water dispensed from the cooler. The frequency of these visits is dependent on the type of cooler and the technology and materials employed in its construction.
Audit and Inspection Programmes
Audits are undertaken by 3rd party inspection organisations appointed by the BWCA, each specialised in a specific area of activity. Members must submit to annual audits and inspections relevant to their specific category of membership be it bottling, cooler and bottled water distribution or supply of materials and products.
Professional Training & Education
Training is mandatory for members’ staff as a qualification to undertaking their job-function. Courses in Hygiene Awareness, Depot Management, Bottling Plant Operation, Plumbed-in Cooler Installation and Crisis Management are undertaken to meet Codes of Practice and audit requirements and ensure product quality and safety as well as meeting of the relevant national regulations and standards. Other optional training is offered to assist members in their businesses including Manual Handling, Health & Safety, HACCP and Customer Service.
Environmentally Friendly Practices
To meet National regulations and European directives the BWCA mandates that its members implement practices on the recycling of coolers, bottles, cups, packaging and other related products at the end of their useful life.
